Simoan Grier

Simoan is a Manager at Ignite Philanthropy, where she deepens her knowledge of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors while helping bring impactful community projects to life. In this role, she collaborates with nonprofits of all sizes across diverse sectors.
Previously, Simoan supported local initiatives such as Study Hall, an educational tutoring app serving Cincinnati Public Schools, and contributed to Movers & Makers as a copyeditor and writer, spotlighting Cincinnati’s change makers. She also has over ten years of healthcare experience serving Cincinnati’s most disadvantaged communities.
In addition to her role at Ignite, Simoan serves as the internal chair for Cincinnati Young Black Professionals, where she curates events to foster a positive cultural community aimed at retaining young Black professionals in Cincinnati. A Cincinnati native, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in communications. In her spare time, Simoan enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and exploring Cincinnati’s cultural scene.
